THREE Limpopo taxi operators have been barred from operating their taxis due to alleged misinformation against them.
Kgopi Legodi, Kgakeswana Mohlala and Dimakatso Kgole have not been operating their businesses since April last year.
They were allegedly told not to use the taxi rank at the Polokwane Centre after their rivals from the Sasol Taxi Rank had made several of allegations against them.
They were accused of having stolen R4million from the association, an allegation which they denied saying proper auditing of the books was not done.
Legodi had also allegedly endured his rivals' brutality after he was severely assaulted for continuing to run his taxi business.
The three have been members of the Polokwane United, Local and Long Distance Taxi Association.
They said they were struggling since their vehicles were put out of business. They were also in arrears with payments of vehicles.
Legodi told Sowetan yesterday that they had obtained a court order to go back and operate their taxis but the other group would not accept them back.
A member of the rival group, Moses Modiba said it was not true that the three were denied the right to operate.
He said they wanted them to return the association's car, which they allegedly sold without authorisation.
