Husband worried after wife disappears during festive shopping

A LIMPOPO man whose wife disappeared mysteriously on December 31 last year is worried about her safety and wellbeing.

Isaac Nkuna said his common-law wife of 10 years, Thembi Duduzile Mnisi, 44, disappeared from their home in Mhlaba Cross village outside Tzaneen on New Year's Eve. Nkuna said Mnisi left her cellphone behind and had not done anything to let the family know about her whereabouts.

Mnisi had apparently left her home to buy groceries for the New Year celebrations.

Nkuna said he came back to find that his two children had gone to play with other children in the village. He said his wife had taken a few of her clothes when she left. Mnisi hails from Mbangwane village near Malelane, also in Mpumalanga.

"After searching for her around our village and at her friends' houses, I realised that she was no longer in the area," said Nkuna.

He said he also visited Mnisi's parental home but found that her family did not know her whereabouts, nor had they seen her.

Nkuna said it was the first time that Mnisi had disappeared.

"My worry is that she left her cellphone at home. I can't contact her, neither can she contact me. I work far from home. My children's safety is at risk," he said.

Anyone with information about Mnisi's whereabouts is asked to contact Inspector Seth Magadzi on 082-414-2710.
