A TRUCK driver was injured on the N2 near Nyoni after hijackers threw a brick at his windscreen yester day, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

"It is thought that the truck had passed beneath a bridge ... and people thought to be hijackers threw a brick through the windscreen, causing the driver to lose control of the horse and trailer," said Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks.

He said the vehicle, carrying steel sheeting, overturned and paramedics were called to the scene.

"The driver sustained chest and spinal trauma and was stabilised by paramedics before being transported to hospital," said Wicks. - Sapa
