NOKWANELE Gontsana has been missing since September 27 2002. Police have investigated the case since it was reported seven years ago but have been unable to find out what has happened to her.
Nokwanele was 17 at the time. She went missing on her way home from Alexander Sinton High School in Crawford, Western Cape.
Western Cape premier Helen Zille's office is now offering a R50000 reward for information that will help police find Nokwanele.

The specific conditions attached to the reward are that the information given makes it possible for the police to locate Nokwanele or that it leads to the conviction of anyone involved in foul play relating to her disappearance; that Nokwanele's disappearance is not found to have been a deliberate action on her part and that the person claiming the reward is not found to have been involved in her initial disappearance.
Nokwanele is among at least 1200 children who go missing in South Africa every year. Luckily, 90percent of them are found in the first week.
Since 1994, 900 children have disappeared without trace.
Matthew Ohlsson was nine when he disappeared on March 24 1997. He went to collect a dustbin with his sister outside his home in Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town. When the sister turned around, he was gone.
Baby Abe Mukutshwa was snatched from Coronation Hospital two years ago and has still not been found. An unidentified woman walked out of the maternity ward with him a day after he was born.
