POLOKWANE is rapidly becoming one of South Africa's tourist magnets and Limpopo will use the 2010 World Cup to further promote the province.

"People coming here for the World Cup will definitely enjoy the beauty of our province," Premier Cassel Mathale said.

"We want to use the World Cup to step up our marketing campaign for the province and it is good that great players like Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry will be here.

"Our aim is to offer the best entertainment to all our visitors.

"We have to be nice to visitors because they will serve as our ambassadors when they get back home."

The Bakone Malapa Northern Sotho Open-Air Museum, which is about 2km from the new Peter Mokaba Stadium, introduces visitors to the daily life of the Bakone people.

The Polokwane Museum, housed in the historic Irish House, has interesting exhibits including a history of the city and its environs.
