TWO of the 10 people arrested in connection with the theft of City Power electrical equipment are also wanted for murder.

Police say warrants of arrest have been issued against former City Power employees Shuping Hlongwane and Bongani Mogaswa, who are being sought by Thembisa and Midrand police.

This was revealed during their bail application in the Johannesburg magistrate's court on Friday.

But their lawyer Jennie Kruger told the court that the cases against her clients had been withdrawn.

The nine men and one woman are alleged to have siphoned between R6,7million and R9million from City Power over the past few years by selling its equipment to sub-contractors. - Mfundekelwa Mkhulisi
