Argentina's two-man delegation arrived in Polokwane minus their head coach Diego Maradona, who was conducting coaching clinics in Pretoria.
The duo, Javier Vilamitiana and Donato Villani, were welcomed in Limpopo by Patrick Mabasa, the venue deputy manager of Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Desiree Tlhoaele, the head of Limpopo's department of sports, arts and culture, and an official from Fifa's accommodation and ticketing agency Match were also present.
Representatives of the municipality were conspicuous by their absence.
It was the third time representatives from the City of Polokwane did not attend an event to welcome a delegation from World Cup teams.
Last month, the city's officials were nowhere to be seen when delegations from Mexico and New Zealand visited Polokwane. They were also welcomed by Mabasa.
Vilamitiana said the hotel they will be staying at in Polokwane was "bueno", meaning nice, and that team members would use it for only one night before their match.
"We are satisfied with the high level of the facility and also considering that it is just a stone's throw from the stadium.
"We are also happy with the stadium, especially its turf, which is in very good condition," Vilamitiana said.
