Lethabo, 4, went missing on December 19 at the birthday party of a relative in Dobsonville, Soweto.
He was found wandering the streets of Zondi and taken to a place of safety where he had been since.
But on Monday a social worker was watching the television news when she saw Lethabo's story. She immediately called Soweto TV's Dr Love - real name Mveleli Gqwede - who helped facilitate the reunion yesterday.
His mother Sonia and her family were overjoyed when they were reunited with the boy just after noon yesterday.
Bawa was relieved that her son was alive and healthy. At the weekend she had told how desperate she was to find her son.
Yesterday the overjoyed mother played with her son who, despite being a confident bubbly little boy, did not want to leave his mother's side.
Lethabo laughed and shared his biscuit and brand new toys.
He said: "I am not afraid. I am happy. I love mama."
On Monday, Knowledge Tshabala, 6, who had been missing for six days, was also reunited with his family.
He had taken the wrong bus home on his first day at school in Eikenhof and ended up in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg. A Good Samaritan found him wandering the streets and took him to the police, who took him to a place of safety.
