good quality repos at truck sale

THE first Park Village Auctions truck sale of the year takes place at Nasrec on Thursday, January 28, commencing at 10.30am and all pointers are towards a good start to the year's programme.

"The inaugural 2010 truck sale is shaping up to be an excellent one with a large offering of good quality repos on offer from Absa, Daimler Financial Services, Standard Bank, Wesbank and Nedbank," says Park Village's operations manager LeRoy Augustyn.

"As things look at the moment, with planning still in its early stages for the sale, there will be about 180 lots available including an assortment of trucks, trailers, side tippers, truck tractors and other vehicles.

"The inventory may still change before the sale, but at the moment it includes the likes of Mercedes-Benz, International, Freightliner, Iveco, Toyota, Tata, Daihatsu, Volvo, Scania, Ford, Mazda, Colt, Isuzu and more besides.

"Going forward it would appear that auction prices this year could harden as the recovery gathers momentum and the benefits of the final run-up to the World Cup are felt in sectors such as construction and general haulage.

"A further indication of the improved mood is that current statistics show new truck sales have stabilised, but that prices have increased.

"Accordingly, auctions of quality stock continue to offer the perfect opportunity to acquire additional trucking and transport capacity at attractive, reduced prices.

"Moreover, demand remains balanced across the spectrum of heavy, medium and light vehicles - also a good indication of general economic recovery," Augustyn said.
