POLICE in Seshego were called in yesterday to assist teachers at Millennium High School enrol pupils.
This was after the police were called in by the school principal when a group of angry parents demanded that their children be enrolled.
Schooling was disrupted. and pandemonium ensued. The parents claimed they had previously applied for their children's admission but were told there was no room at the school for them.
The school's acting principal, known only as TD Dipela, apparently summoned the police to the school, claiming she feared for her safety.
The angry parents told Sowetan that the police were used to take their children's registration documents from them - while they were forced to stand outside the school's locked gates.
Thulasizwe Legodi, the parent of a pupil, said they had waited since 8am but the registration process - with the assistance of the police - had only started in the afternoon.
Limpopo education department spokesperson Ndo Mangala said they were aware of the situation at the school and had dispatched officials to investigate the matter.
