This was announced yesterday by LOC chief executive Danny Jordaan, who will meet representatives of the five World Cup teams playing in the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
The teams are Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Algeria and Nigeria.
Just more than onemillion of the 3,1million World Cup tickets have been sold.
"We are concerned that Bafana Bafana's tickets for the World Cup are not selling in line with the norms for the host teams," Jordaan said.
"We have always known that ticket sales for host teams are among the highest, currently Bafana Bafana do not even feature in the top 10 bracket.
"It will be the first time that the host nation (is) not topping the ticket sales list.
"We are hoping the sales will improve before we close the third phase on January 22."
Jordaan said they were disappointed that supporters of the African teams in the World Cup are not coming to the party. He is going back to Angola as a member of the organising committee for the Afcon, where he hopes to find out why.
Jordaan has urged South Africans to change their attitude of waiting until the last minute to buy tickets.
His sentiments were echoed by Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena, who said: "We appeal to South Africans to rally behind the team by buying tickets. It is important that we get big crowds.
"We must also support all the six African teams."
