SOUTH African tennis player Jeff Coetzee says he is looking forward to doing well in the South African Open, from February 1-7 in Johannesburg.

"I always like playing at home and I just love this tournament. You always get to meet new people who support you and it just has a good vibe to it," Coetzee said.

"My preparations have been going well for 2010 and I need to turn them into positive results.

"I have been working hard and the Davis Cup squad had a solid week of training that was good for all the players."

Coetzee also said he does not mind who he comes up against as every opponent will be tough to play against. "There are just too many good players out there."

He said the South African Open will open doors for many young local players.

"I think it is awesome that we have a tour event on home soil. It is a very good opportunity for the up-and-coming youngsters who will be participating.

"It's also a great way to promote the game," Coetzee added.
