Payco supports the new Safaleadership

THE Pan Africanist Youth Congress (Payco) of Azania wishes to congratulate South African Football Association's executive committee for a job well done by appointing Lesley Sedibe as its chief executive officer.

We want to register our full support and pleasure on this radical and progressive decision by the new Safa leaders under Kirsten Nematandani.

Safa has now for decades been under white CEO's despite the fact that we have a lot of competent and skilled African business strategist and executives.

We regard this step as a sign of commitment by the new leadership to turn South African football around and to clean the mess created by corrupt and visionless former leaders, who allowed corruption, fraud, nepotism, favoritism and autocracy to destroy our football at all levels.

We call on all our people to support the new leadership and CEO in their endeavors to take South African football to greater heights.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the new CEO and wish him all the best in his responsibilities of managing and administering Safa and South African football as a whole.

We expect him to ensure that grass-roots structures are supported and nurtured financially, technically and in all respects to revive our football and the enthusiasm of our people.

Last, but not least, we trust that the radical steps to turn Safa around will not leave out the Premier Soccer League, which is doomed and failing our football.
