THE City of Johannesburg yesterday had a 150-day Fifa World Cup countdown celebration with the Diski Striker on Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.

The Diski Striker is a vehicle that was donated to the James Hall Transport Museum for demolition.

"Instead of demolishing the car we decided it should be used for the 2010 drive," Peter Hall said.

The Diski Striker was at the Mary Fitzgerald square entertaining the public.

Hall said it would be visiting shopping malls throughout Johannesburg every three days to inspire excitement for the World Cup.
