PARKER'S Comedy and Jive will open 2010 with a performance by renowned comedian Loyiso Gola.
His gut-splitting performances are set to take place at Parker's in Johannesburg from January 14 to 16.
Gola, who against all odds has made inroads into the tough industry, takes to the stage with impressive local acts such as Kedibone, Martin Jonas, Alain D Woolf, Trevor Gumbi, Joe Parker, Chris Forrest and Tshepo Mogale.
Also on the menu are international favourites that include Brit Mandy Knight, who is in the spotlight on January 21 to 23.
The American star Griff will dish out his brand of humour on January 28 to 30. These comedians from abroad return to pick up where they left off last year.
Local stars performing in January with Gola include Kedibone, Martin Jonas, Alain D Woolf, Trevor Gumbi, Joe Parker, Chris Forrest and Tshepo Mogale. This is a line-up that should not be missed.

He has been performing stand-up comedy for eight years and has graced the stages of all the major festivals and events on the local comedy scene. His one-man shows, including Loyiso Gola For President, wowed audiences nationwide and scored him a South African Comedy Award.
From humble beginnings, performing with the Cape Comedy Collective on the Cape Town comedy circuit "while I was still at school", Gola has evolved into a comedy phenomenon, performing all over the country as well as on television, radio and the big screen.
The comedy fraternity was first made aware of his talents when he won the Sprite Soul Comedy competition and was runner-up in the professional category of the Freshest Five Comedy Competition literally on his arrival in Johannesburg in 2003 at the age of 19.
Griff is a native of California, who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Blessed (and cursed) with a raspy baritone voice, this insomniac headliner's quick wit, and sometimes dark improvisation, is a sure-fire hit. He claims to be the only African-American who knows what the sport of cricket is ... and probably one of a few Americans who know that Johannesburg downtown area makes New York City look small! Griff is a comedian by night and a radio personality by day.
