THE South African Democratic Students Movement has expressed concern at the "suffering of innocent pupils in Mpumalanga because of the Department of Education's failure to plan properly".

Sadesmo president Ntuthuko Majozi said: "It is very disturbing to witness the manner in which the Department of Education is handling the Mpumalanga results issue.

"The department was aware of the irregularities which took place during the previous matric examinations, yet they failed to plan pro-actively."

Sadesmo urged the department to release the results for those pupils or areas that were not affected.

" We urge the department to release the results and allow students sufficient time to start applying to tertiary institutions," Majozi said. - Canaan Mdletshe
