LIMPOPO MEC for safety and security Dikeledi Magadzi yesterday promised angry communities in Giyani and Vuwani that she would make sure that unsolved murder cases in these areas are solved.

Speaking to thousands of people outside the Greater Giyani municipality after receiving a memorandum submitted by the communities of Nkuri Malonga and Madadzi, Magadzi promised swift action.

The march follows the deaths of 22-year-old Muvhango Muvari of Malonga and Thokozile Maswanganyi of Sodoma in nearby Nkuri.

The two were allegedly killed on December 24 near the Nkuri bar lounge.

They allegedly went into the nearby veld and were kidnapped and killed.

Their decomposing bodies were found four days later.

Maswanganyi was buried at Nkuri on NewYear's Day, while Muvari was given a high-profile funeral addressed by Vhembe district municipality executive mayor Falaza Mdaka on Saturday.

Magadzi said she was happy that three suspects had been arrested and appeared in court yesterday.

She said she would answer the demands of the communities within seven days.

The demands included that no bail be given to the three suspects.

They also demanded that corrupt policemen in the Giyani police station, who they blamed for the unresolved cases, be removed.

Thousands of marchers who could not reach the court toyi-toyied in Giyani.

The case was postponed to Thursday and the three, who have not yet pleaded, were remanded.
