A 34-YEAR-OLD Thai woman, arrested for human trafficking, was denied bail in the Rustenburg magistrate's court on Tuesday.
The court said Giang Brooderyk was a flight risk. She was arrested on November 26 for allegedly helping girls from Thailand to enter SA illegally.
She allegedly promised them work but once in the country they were forced to work as prostitutes. The court said she entered South Africa with a fraudulent visitor's permit in 2000, and had travelled to and fro ever since with the help of connections in Home Affairs, the police and the aviation industry.
