ANOTHER person is presumed to have drowned at Kogel Bay in Western Cape, the National Sea Rescue Institute said yesterday .

Spokesman Craig Lambinon said the NSRI Gordon's Bay branch, the police and other emergency services, including a helicopter, were summoned to the beach yesterday morning to help lifeguards search for a missing 13-year-old youth.

The youth, believed to be from Elsies River on the Cape Flats, reportedly went missing in the surf while swimming.

"Despite an extensive search no sign of the youth has been found and it is presumed he has drowned," Lambinon said.

"A police dive unit is continuing the search." - Sapa
