Saheti pupils excel in exams

SAHETI School in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, has received 120 distinctions in the Independent Examination Board National Senior Certificate exams to maintain the school's unbroken record of a 100percent pass rate.

SAHETI School in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, has received 120 distinctions in the Independent Examination Board National Senior Certificate exams to maintain the school's unbroken record of a 100percent pass rate.

Of the 65 matric pupils, 82percent achieved a university exemption, while 23 pupils achieved multiple distinctions, with 35 pupils achieving at least one distinction.

The pupils achieved 20 distinctions in mathematics and English, and 21 distinctions in life orientation.

The school's top achiever - Byron Vos - was among the 56 IEB Outstanding Achievers nationally. Three other pupils - Evan Fotopoulos, Francesca Michael and Emily Nicholls - were among the 48 IEB Commendable Achievers nationally.

Byron excelled with a full house of 10 distinctions.

Byron has been named as an Outstanding Achiever, being ranked within the top 5percent of pupils in six or more subjects.

He was also ranked in the top 1percent of pupils in English, history and mathematics.

He received100percent in mathematics and advanced programme mathematics.

Evan Fotopoulos, Dino Bertolis and Francesca Michael all obtained nine distinctions.

Evan has been named a Commendable Achiever, being ranked within the top 5percent of pupils in five or more subjects. He was also ranked in the top 1percent of pupils in mathematics P3.

She was also ranked in the top 1percent of pupils in mathematics P3.

Principal Anastasia Krystallidis said: "We are delighted that our pupils achieved such good results."
