THE Stormers' Vodacom Super 14 squad will assemble on January 4 at the High Performance Centre in Belville, Cape Town, to prepare for the 2010 southern hemisphere competition.

The Western Cape side kick off the yearly tournament with a tough away game against the Lions at Ellis Park Stadium on February 13.

Stormers' manager Chippie Solomons said yesterday that all the players were expected back at the club on Monday after the Christmas break.

Their new Springbok recruits, former Blue Bulls wing Bryan Habana and former Lions centre Jacque Fourie, are also expected in the team on Monday.

Formers Bok Sevens utility player Fabian Juries and SA Under-20 flyhalf Lionel Cronje are also expected to join the rest of the players in the new season.

Said Solomons: "It is all systems go for the Super 14 campaign and we are geared up after a successful pre-season training camp last month.

"The boys looked sharp and motivated at the camp and everybody lived up to expectations set out by the management."

Solomons said they hoped to reach the semifinals of the Super 14 competition after a bad performance last season.

Schalk Burger is likely to captain the Stormers side after the departure of former skipper Luke Watson.
