MORE than 20 people have drowned in Gauteng this month, police said yesterday.

The drowning of three children at the weekend brought the number to 24, said Gauteng police spokesperson Superintendent Eugene Opperman.

Vaal police will today resume the search for a boy aged 13 who drowned in Orange Farm yesterday.

The body of a 12-year-old girl was found in Tsakane, Ekurhuleni.

Divers were also looking for a boy who drowned in Zonkizizwe, Ekurhuleni yesterday, said Opperman.

The body of an 18-year-old boy was recovered from Hartbeespoort Dam, North West yesterday.

Meanwhile, the NSRI found two bodies in Gordon's Bay, Western Cape yesterday. - Namhla Tshisela
