MOST people prefer to spend Christmas with their families, and rightly so. And the day after Christmas is Family Day, which is another holiday.

MOST people prefer to spend Christmas with their families, and rightly so. And the day after Christmas is Family Day, which is another holiday.

This is normally the day some of us spend with friends, doing a postmortem on Christmas.

But we cannot just sit around talking and we need some sort of entertainment.

So if you are not spending the day with friends on Family Day, what do you do? Actually it is an awkward day.

These thoughts ran through my mind this week and then I received an invitation to party with some of the most prominent DJs in the country.

It is quite a tempting line-up, but I am still undecided whether to accept the invitation or spend the day with my friends.

Anyway, those of you who would like to go should go along to the True North Bar Annual Picnic Jol in Mondeor.

For those who are not quite sure where that is, it used to be called Mabaleng.

Yes, that one. It is now called True North Bar

The DJs billed to provide great entertainment are Ganyani, Claude, Dikgwele, Tumi, Cheeks, Beyounce, China and Collen X-men.

Admission to the DJ party is R100 for a person and you will have to pop out R200 for a cooler box.

The organisers say they do not mind at all if you want to take along your camping chair to relax on when the entertainment wears you out and you want to put your feet up.
