Inspector November Filander said the man was held for questioning after he went to the Gugulethu police station on Monday to report having been robbed of his firearm on Sunday.
The firearm was confiscated by police on the scene of the robbery on Sunday.
During the robbery, a 44-year-old woman was shot and seriously wounded. The man had not been charged. - Sapa
