Two contestants from Zimbabwe, Roseanna, 17, and Tholakele, 23, made it through to the final leg of the competition.
The other finalists are 19-year-old aspirant journalist Benedicta of Ghana, 22-year-old Nigerian Blessing, 22-year-old Diana of Kenya, 18-year-old Ernania of Mozambique, 18-year-old model Esperanca of Angola, 21-year-old student Lilian of Tanzania, 22-year-old aspirant photographer and student Lukundo of Zambia, 20-year-old Marvis of Nigeria, Nardos, 19, of Ethiopia and 22-year-old Thembi of South Africa.
They will compete for a cash prize of about R385000 and a modelling contract with inaugural winner Oluchi Onweagba's O Model Africa.
The finale will be screened in February on DStv channel 110, following a 14-episode television series. Previous winners include Kate Tachie-Menson of Ghana and Kaone Kario of Botswana.
Entry to the competition, which started in 1998, is open to women between the ages of 17 and 24 in sub-Saharan Africa. The minimum height requirement is 1,72m and entrants should not have an existing modelling contract.
