A RESIDENT sent me photos of traffic signals that have been cut down at their base. Is this the work of izinyoka or the the tow truck industry?

Every day signals are maintained by a dedicated unit of the Johannesburg Roads Agency.

These guys are out there every day fighting a battle with people who have no respect for the residents of Joburg.

You and I, the ratepayers in the city, contribute to the raising and maintenance of signal poles. Every time someone cuts a pole down they are stealing from us.

Traffic signals make the traffic run smoother. When the flow is interrupted it causes road rage and the potential for serious accidents.
