Born in Giyani, Rikhotso is among the few musicians who do not rely only on music to make a living. If she is not behind a desk learning more about laws that govern the music industry, the singer is blessing people with her spiritual music.
With her second album, Indlela Zakho, Rikhotso has matured as a singer. In this release, unlike in her previous album, Thethelela Baba, she shows she understands the industry.
Rikhotso said: "I call the album Indlela Zakho because God is the only one who knows your life inside out. Even when people judge you on your mistakes, God has the final say."
She said the second album speaks about the hardships she has gone through in the music industry.
To produce this beautiful album she worked with quite a youthful and talented team that included Phuthuma Tiso.
Rikhotso's music career started in 2003 when she joined the late Vuyo Mokoena as a backing vocalist. After that she worked with Lundi Tyamara, Kholeka, Zodwa Twecu, Sechaba and Sifiso Ncwane as a backing singer.
Rikhotso is doing a BCom in law with Unisa. She said it was important for musicians to understand the legal issues of their contracts.
