THERE has been positive reaction from opposition parties as the clean governance campaign continues in KwaZulu-Natal municipalities.

The campaign is spearheaded by MEC for cooperative governance and traditional affairs Nomusa Dube.

This happened after three IFP-led municipalities were stripped of their executive functions and powers due to poor service delivery while officials earned huge salaries.

uMhlabayalingana, Indaka and Ukhahlamba municipalities had been riddled by financial mismanagement and maladministration.

This week Dube said the provincial executive council of KwaZulu-Natal government resolved to intervene and place the municipalities under its administration after considering financial reports.
