Dikgacoi rejects rift claim

FULHAM and South Africa international midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi has repudiated the contents of an article that appeared in the UK Sunday tabloid newspaper News of the World, which claimed he is unsettled at the English Premiership club.

The report alleges that the former Lamontville Golden Arrows linkman is not satisfied with not making the starting line-up for "The Cottagers", and that he is looking at making a loan move in the January transfer window.

"There is absolutely no truth in what has been written about me in that report. I have not mentioned anything of the sort to any journalist," said the 25-year-old.

The former Arrows captain said he has informed his coach Roy Hodgson about the fact that the report was inaccurate.

"I have, on the contrary, played in two of our last two matches as a substitute, and feature in midweek games for the reserve side as well."

Dikgacoi described the 2010 Fifa World Cup draw as a tough one, but he is confident Bafana Bafana will qualify for the knockout stages. Bafana have been drawn in Group B against Uruguay, France and Mexico.

"All the teams that have qualified are good, there is nothing like an easy group. We are playing at home, so we have to do well," Dikgacoi said. "It is taking place in Africa for the first time, so it is important for an African team to feature in the final." - Additional reporting by Ramatsiyi Moholoa
