KwaMahlobo Games adopts 2010 role

FORTY clubs are expected to participate in the yearly Altech Autopage KwaMahlobo Games at Meadowlands Zone 10 sport grounds from December 26 to January 10.

FORTY clubs are expected to participate in the yearly Altech Autopage KwaMahlobo Games at Meadowlands Zone 10 sport grounds from December 26 to January 10.

Tournament organiser Blessing Zwane said: "This is a great year for us because it (the tournament) comes about six months before the biggest soccer tournament ever to take place in Africa.

"It is for that reason we are using our tournament this year to create awareness for the 2010 Fifa World Cup. We want our people to know more about the World Cup.

"We will also use the tournament to urge our people to go out there and buy tickets. It is embarrassing the team-specific tickets for Bafana Bafana are not selling well.

"Our people are used to buying tickets late, but our message to them will be let us get the tickets now to avoid watching the World Cup on television."

Registration is R1 000 per club. Zwane said there will be a meeting and draw at Los My Cherry in Dobsonville on December 24, starting at 2pm. Each club must send two delegates.
