Wits have to pull up their socks

BIDVEST Wits midfielder Mark Haskins has described their Absa Premiership match against Moroka Swallows at Milpark Stadium tomorrow afternoon as a must-win clash.

Haskins is right considering that the Students have gone 12 matches without a win.

"The match against Swallows is very important to us and we can't afford to lose it," Haskins said yesterday.

"We need to win this match to turn the corner. We are all positive we will triumph. We have been playing well but we have been failing to score goals.

"There is no easy game this season and the league is tight. We will have to pull up our socks to overcome our opponents, who are also desperately looking for points."

Swallows have not been inspiring in their recent matches and should also be desperate for a win.

Their captain, Lefa Tsutsulupa, said they were eager to make up for their disappointing performance in the second round of the campaign.

"It will be tough against Wits, but we will compete against them," he said yesterday.

Kickoff is at 3.30pm.

l Elsewhere tomorrow, Santos host the inconsistent Lamontville Golden Arrows at Coetzenburg Stadium (8pm) as firm favourites.

Free State Stars need to be at their best against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Goble Park Stadium (3.30pm).
