Thanks to Reckitt Benckiser's education through sport youth development programme Dettol Shona Khona, the 12 lads will visit the famous Sao Paulo Football Club for a memorable week of specialised soccer coaching, life skills development workshops and educational and culturally-enriching tours of Sao Paulo city.
They will also play against Sao Paulo FC Academy's under-14 side.
Any of them who impress the Brazilians could join Dettol Shona Khona recruit Tyroane Sandows, who is at present studying and honing his soccer talents at the Sao Paulo FC Academy.
Dettol Shona Khona's nation-building partners are Sowetan, the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation, Premier Soccer League club Bidvest Wits FC and Metro Cash & Carry. The partnership helps girls and boys realise their wildest soccer dreams.
A total of 4000 hopefuls submitted dedicated barcodes found on Reckitt Benckiser products, including Dettol, while participating schools had to collect the most Dettol soap wrappers.
Over several months a number of former professional soccer players conducted provincial soccer coaching and life skills development clinics involving about 600 candidates. Out of this number, 30 made it to the final national camp, which then resulted in the top 12.
They are Gauteng's Samkelo Qwabe, Montgulio Thompson, Brogan Sanders, Matla Khoela and Owen Tsomele; North West's Kopano Motaung and Kagiso Manong; Limpopo's Justice Maluleke, Mpumalanga's Hlaulekile Moyane, Eastern Cape's Mlibo Sotashe and Dayne Jooste and KwaZulu-Natal's Sibulelo Zwane.
Tyroane Sandows, the biggest success story of the Dettol Shona Khona programme, has been at Sao Paulo FC Academy over the past two years, after he was offered a three-year contract.
Another bright Shona Khona recruit, Sifiso Mnguni, who was discovered at the very first Shona Khona training camp, has signed a three-year professional playing contract with Platinum Stars' development team.
