ANOTHER late surge by Kaizer Chiefs saw the Phefeni Glamour Boys take all three points with a 3-1 win against Platinum Stars.

Chiefs have now won three consecutive games for the first time in this campaign. They were 1-0 down, equalised and only managed to get the winning goals in the closing stages of this thriller.

Stars were the first to draw blood when a Henrico Botes' header beat an outstretched Itumeleng Khune.

The goal sparked Chiefs into life and they surged forward in search of an equaliser and they got one when Simphiwe Tshabalala beat Tapuwa Kapini in the 24th minute.

Stars were good on the right hand side with Joseph Molongoane giving Chiefs left back Jimmy Jambo a torrid time. The two sides went to the break locked at 1-1 but in the second half Chiefs stepped up a gear.

Josta Dladla was fouled on the 81st minute inside the box and referee Jacob Frolick pointed to the spot, much to the disgust of Stars players and substitute Luis Renteria was red carded for his outbursts. From the spot kick, Jose Torrealba scored from the rebound after his initial shot was saved.

Three minutes later, Kapini failed to hold on to a Jimmy Tau shot and Kaizer Motaung Jr. scored from the rebound to hand Amakhosi three points.
