THE desolate, rain-drenched Dobsonville Stadium last night was the scene of embattled Moroka Swallows' 3-0 defeat against log leaders and defending champions SuperSport United as a direct result of blunders committed by goalkeeper Greg Etafia and midfielder Lefa Tsutsulupa.

Etafia, it must be said, was the main culprit after seemingly setting the tempo for the entire proceedings by allowing an ostensibly innocuous cross from Anthony Laffor to sail into the roof of the net in only the second minute of the game.

And when a grateful Glen Salmon was gifted SuperSport's second goal shortly before half-time, it followed a fresh-air miskick by Swallows captain Tsutsulupa.

Laffor's second, simple goal of this eerie night in the 87th minute was little more than an enactment akin to knocking the nails into the coffin of a long-deceased adversary. - Sapa
