METRO FM'S bubbly Penny Lebyane and Top Billing presenter Jo-Ann Strauss will handle hosting chores for this year's Miss South Africa Pageant.

The two will share hosting duties at the 53rd Miss South Africa beauty pageant, which will be broadcast live on SABC3 on Sunday from 7.30pm to 9pm. The event will be held at the Sun City Superbowl.

Strauss, now a TV presenter, motivational speaker and businesswoman, won the Miss South Africa competition in 2000.

Lebyane's primary duty at the pageant will be to provide behind-the-scenes insights on what it takes to be a Miss South Africa finalist.

Lebyane said co-hosting the event was a dream come true for her because she had always wanted to take part in the Miss South Africa pageant as a young girl.

"Years ago, in the late 90s, I remember I even entered the Miss Soweto beauty pageant with the hope of one day being a finalist in the Miss South Africa," an excited Lebyane said.

The proud mother of two has been part of this year's Miss South Africa beauty pageant for nearly three months - from the top 30 finalists to the final 12.

The Miss South Africa winner will represent the country in Miss Universe 2010 and Miss World 2010 contests.
