He was speaking yesterday at the handover ceremony of soccer equipment worth R100000 to Dorothy Langa Primary School in Seshego.
They received the equipment after winning the 2009 Nestle Milo Championships.
Fish said: "We are able to unearth talent but do not nurture it, hence it is lost.
"I am calling on the development coaches and club owners to join forces to ensure that talent from across the country is nurtured.
"It is sometimes heartbreaking to find a Premiership or National First Division player being unable to head a ball. There is also a need for the players' union to be strong to ensure that players are fully developed, to avoid a situation where they get involved in illegal activities.
"As I enjoy working with youngsters, I want to spend time with them because I have tried and failed in other avenues," he said.
Fish, who was recently fired as coach of Thanda Royal Zulu, also conducted soccer clinics. School coach Mpho Mathope said the equipment will form part of their development drive.
