DURBAN comes alive again when music lovers descend on the Hazelmere Dam for the 7th annual jazz festival on December 26.
Organisers say this year's show promises music enthusiasts - plus both domestic and foreign holidaymakers - innovation and vibrancy.
The extravaganza will showcase jazz, Afro-pop and acid jazz.
The MTN Durban Jazz Festival is an event that features prominently on KwaZulu-Natal entertainment calendar.
The audience will also be entertained by Mafikizolo members Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza, as solo artists.
Organisers, Touch Africa, spokesperson Mdu Ngcobo said the two musicians had done well with their solo albums.
Other jazz musicians who will take the stage are Dorothy Masuku, Caiphus Semenya, Ringo Madlingozi, Sipho Hostix Mabuse and Harare, Thandiswa Mazwai, Lira, Ntokozo Masinga, Busi Mhlongo and African Jazz Pioneers.
"The event will be better and bigger than previous years, with the celebration of the 2010 Cup as the event's theme," Ngcobo said.
Patrons are asked to bring their camp chairs, braai stands, cooler boxes and umbrellas to enjoy the scenery, music, boat and helicopter rides around the dam.
Tickets are R185 at Computicket. No tickets will be sold at the gate.
