THE ANC yesterday welcomed the findings of the latest TNS survey indicating President Jacob Zuma's growing popularity in the country.

The survey found that Zuma's approval rating increased to 58percent last month.

In a statement, the ANC also praised Zuma on receiving the Order of the Eagle of Zambia, that country's highest award to its freedom fighters.

"Not only has President Zuma distinguished himself as a leader within ANC structures, he has been recognised as a peacemaker in Africa."

A TNS spokesperson said Zuma's increased popularity was thought to be as a result of his visit to Zimbabwe in August and the setting up of a task team there. - Sapa
