NEW TV SERIES tackles love and sex in jozi

NEXT year the country will be able to watch a new TV show that is sure to set tongues wagging.

NEXT year the country will be able to watch a new TV show that is sure to set tongues wagging.

The new series, which is currently being shot on location around the country, features well-known names in the game.

The provocative local drama series is due to hit the small screen on February 2.

Curious Pictures and e.tv are in production shooting the new 30-minute weekly drama, which tackles contentious issues about love, sex and relationships in Jozi.

The series follows the lives of four women: Amira (Mbali Maphumulo), who falls in love easily; Nox (Kgomotso Christopher), who is in an unhappy marriage; Noma (Portia Gumede), who mothers all her friends but is unwilling to open up to them in turn; and Danny (Tiffany Jones), who takes no nonsense from men.

I went behind the scenes at a hair salon, one of the locations for the shoot. And it was quite interesting to see to what lengths the producers go to make sure the series works.

The set was a hive of activity, with directors barking orders to the crew as actors tried to memorise their lines.

According to sources the producers will be asked to shoot another 13 episodes if the first season succeeds. Each episode will be shown on Tuesdays at 9pm.
