Sober leaders have been forced to withdraw because the likes of Buti Manamela. Blade Nzimande, Julius Malema, Butana Komphela and Zwelinzima Vavi have occupied centre stage in our movement's policy discourse.
I hope the ANC Veterans League will not behave like the ANC Youth League, Young Communist League and MK Veterans by engaging in ghetto politics that tarnishes our liberation movement.
The Veterans League should be a source of wisdom and should guide Jacob Zuma so that he stops the laissez-faire attitude prevailing in our government.
Infighting in the branches up to the cabinet is new in our movement. Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki never contradicted each other when Mbeki was ANC president and Madiba state president.
The ANC should speak out when it's members disrupt DA meetings such as the one at Wintersveld in Pretoria. Ginwala's assessment of Zuma's leadership should be taken constructively.
Our society is appalled by the spat between ministers and between Malema and others. With leaders such as Kgalema Motlanthe, Netshitenzhe, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Tokyo Sexwale in the ANC, Zuma should not have said Malema is presidential material.
Progressive minds in the ANC, Cope and even the SACP should work together to bring sanity to our body politic. This should include curbing expenditure.
People must know who funds Zuma's residential development while people in Nkandla live in poverty. Businesses that fund it must be exposed because there is a lot of money-laundering involving politicians, lawyers and business.
