"I have my ticket and will be here next year (for the tournament)," said Theron, who co-conducted the final draw with Fifa secretary-general Jerome Valcke in Cape Town on Friday night.
"Our people must go out there and buy tickets. I'm one proud South African, I think everyone who is South African is so proud at this moment and glad to be alive at this period in our country.
"This is a magic moment for all of us, for this young democracy and all the people who have worked hard to make this country a better place," said the Benoni-born beauty.
She described as one of the greatest honours of her life to have been asked to be part of the final draw, which was also attended by President Jacob Zuma, former presidents Thabo Mbeki and FW de Klerk.
Theron said she was confident South Africa would make the continent proud by putting up a great show during the tournament.
The Oscar award-winner was joined on stage by sporting celebrities David Beckham, cricket icon Makhaya Ntini, Ethiopian world marathon king Haile Gebreselassie, soccer stars Siphiwe Dludlu and Matthew Booth.
Cameroonian legend Roger Milla, Zambian Kalusha Bwalya, South Africa's John "Shoes" Moshoeu and Lucas Radebe were among the former Bafana players also in attendance.
Gebreselassie said: "I'm proud to be part of the activities of the first ever World Cup on African soil."
