This was also part of the beauties' month-long South African tour, leading up to the pageant that takes place on Saturday at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg.

Miss World contestants from the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup qualifying nations took to the pitch in their countries' national soccer shirts, where they played about with the ball. They posed for photo opportunities with local soccer legends such as Mark Fish, Bongani Khumalo, Jerry Sadike, Sipho Sikhonde, Finkers Sekete, Paradise Legodi and Rhee Skosana.

Speaking about the World Cup draw, Miss Australia Sophie Lavers said: "I think that it is awesome that we've qualified.

"We have been drawn in Group D against Germany, Serbia and Ghana. I think that we can win - well I hope we can win. It's our year!"

Miss Ghana, Mawuse Appea, disagreed with her by saying: "We were the first African country to qualify for the World Cup with the exception of the host country South Africa.

"Ghana is really looking forward to making this World Cup one to remember. We're looking forward to taking the cup home."

Another event keeping the contestants busy over the weekend was the Miss World Children's Party at Johannesburg Zoo on Saturday.

About 300 children from Alexandra, Ebony Park and Protea North mingled with 112 of the world's most beautiful women, including Miss SA Tatum Keshwar.
