AN ANC sub-regional meeting in the Molemole area ended shamefully on Sunday when some members walked out, accusing the leadership of imposing decisions on them.

The walkout was allegedly sparked by Lawrence Mapoulo and James Mankge, chairperson and secretary of the Peter Mokaba region, respectively, who allegedly told delegates they were going to dance to their "tune".

Mankge and Mapoulo were elected in October.

The members who walked out accused the two men of not understanding the culture of the ANC.

They said the two did not have the region's mandate to impose decisions on them.

Among those who walked out were chief lobbyists for Mapoulo's election.

They accused the two men of failing to unite the region.

A source said some members whose candidate lost the elections would meet to chart a way forward.

Provincial secretary of the ANC Joe Maswanganyi condemned the walkout and said ANC members had a responsibility to stay in meetings until the end.
