Popular doc dies

A SOWETO doctor, the son of a former Morris Isaacson High School principal, died yesterday.

A SOWETO doctor, the son of a former Morris Isaacson High School principal, died yesterday.

Dr David Mathabathe, 51, died of a heart attack.

Mathabathe's father, Lekgau Mathabathe, was principal of Morris Isaacson during the 1976 school riots.

His brother Ronnie said: "He was still very active and was employed by correctional services. He also had a surgery in Diepkloof."

He is survived by his wife Phindile and five children.

A service will be held at Johannesburg correctional services on Wednesday at 1pm.
