Cheetahs sign three flyhalves

THE Cheetahs have signed three new players to bolster the team for next season's Vodacom Super 14 campaign.

THE Cheetahs have signed three new players to bolster the team for next season's Vodacom Super 14 campaign.

The players are flyhalves Louis Strydom from the Lions and Naas Olivier and Rian Smith from Griquas.

Cheetahs manager Eugene van Wyk confirmed yesterday that they had signed the trio to fill the gap left by exciting flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter.

Potgieter has been signed by this year's Vodacom Super 14 and Absa Currie Cup champions, the Blue Bulls.

"We are excited that we have signed quality players Strydom, Olivier and Smith and hope they will add a new dimension to the team," said Van Wyk.

"Bringing in the three players is part of our bid to strengthen the team for the new season. It is also encouraging that we managed to keep the core of the team for the coming season."

All three players have signed a one-year contract.
