KWAZULU-NATAL singing sensation Clive Gumede began his singing career while still at primary school.
Now, 26, Gumede is running his own music production house.
Apart from running his business, he sings to entertain people in every genre one can imagine.
He was at one stage a finalist in the famous Pop Idols competition. The Durban-based singer is no stranger to South African stages, since he has also performed in numerous productions, international openings and large events around the country.
He and two other members of the group Black Magic are featured in this year's Motown Show, hosted by Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World.
The musical is a celebration of classic African-American Motown music from the 50s to funky dance moves of the 80s.
"I don't mind what kind of music I sing but the music from the late 70s and 80s really inspires me," he says.
"I grew up in an environment in which all I ever listened to was this type of music."
The classical show features Gumede, who will perform hits from Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder, Gloria Gaynor, Luther Vandross and Earth Wind and Fire.
"Luther Vandross and Smokey are my personal favourites."
The Motown Show runs for the last time today.
