The article contained allegations that Mokgalaka had been charged with statutory rape and was arrested and slept in the cells at the Namakgale police station.
Sowetan has been informed by Mokgalaka that the allegations were not true.
Sowetan apologises to Mokgalaka and regrets the harm caused to him as a result of the publication of the article.
