Johannesburg Child Welfare turns 100 this year, and to celebrate the centenary birthday A Song of Hope will be performed live at a function in Johannesburg on December 6.
The fun day will be at the Melrose Arch piazza and entrance is free.
In the evening, the Sunset Concert will set you back R65 a person.
All money raised will be donated to Johannesburg Child Welfare.
Producers RJ Benjamin and 37 MPH will lead actors, artists and comedians who have donated their time to mark this auspicious milestone in performing the song.
They will also pay tribute to well-known DJ, musician and actor AZ Abrahams, who died in a car crash last weekend. He is featured on A Song of Hope.
Pendry "Bobo" Seritsane, from the group Denim, says it is great to be part of the project.
"Everybody needs hope and the people that need it the most are the kids," he said. "I grew up in Soweto where there is a constant need for hope. It has been a blessing to contribute to this song."
The Joburg Child Welfare's Star Choir also added their voices to the project.
Communications officer Carly Ritz said: "This birthday is an incredible milestone for us, particularly as we are seeing an increase in child abuse and abandonment cases. It also seems that in this economic recession, fewer families are able to come forward and adopt or even foster children. Companies are also not as generous as they would normally have been."
