But midfielder Elias Ngwepe said Maritzburg were looking to redeem their image after being embarrassed 4-0 by Santos three weeks ago.
"We are looking forward to a great start under the new coach," he said.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Free State Stars welcome Bloemfontein Celtic at Charles Mopeli Stadium in what is expected to be a thriller at 3.30pm.
