BIDVEST Wits coach Roger De Sa has apologised for his unsporting behaviour during his side's match against SuperSport United on November 1.

De Sa verbally abused referee Daniel Bennett. He was hauled before the Premier Soccer League's disciplinary committee last week, where he was found guilty as charged and was instructed to make a public apology.

He did that yesterday at his club's media briefing at Milpark, promising that there would be no repeat.

"No one is bigger than the game," said the former Wits, Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

"I apologise for my actions and abusive language made to referee Daniel Bennett.

"The incident happened in the heat of the moment. It was uncalled for.

"However, we learn from such mistakes," said a remorseful De Sa, adding that Bennett was welcome to continue executing his duties at Wits games.

PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu and Wits CEO Stan Whiting were present at the briefing.
